The piece

0.65 carats of round natural diamond set across the wings, prong by prong, on 5.00 grams of 14K gold. The stones follow the wing shape rather than filling it. A solid block of pave would read as a lump at this scale, and the open spacing is what keeps the butterfly legible as a butterfly. Wing tips are the weak point on every pendant built this way.
